Welcome!

I’m Dan, I’ve worked and volunteered in a variety of roles in the charity sector for a decade, and I support charities and churches with flexible, expert finance and governance support.

Whether you need additional expertise, more capacity, or just some assurance and external scrutiny, however often, then I’d love to help you - my services can be customised to suit your needs.

These are the four areas of support commonly provided, but everyone’s needs are different and I’ll happily create a package of one of more of these areas to suit your budget, requirements, and existing resources.

What others say

Dan has been an invaluable support to me in my role as Charity Treasurer. He’s flexible and able to scale his work to match the charity’s needs. His creativity in presenting and analysing financial data has made my role much easier, and his communication is consistently excellent.

I’d highly recommend Dan to any organisation looking for reliable, thoughtful and skilled bookkeeping, and charity finance support.
— Charity Treasurer
Dan has an exceptional ability to turn detailed financial work into clear, accessible updates that our trustees understand and value. His blend of professionalism, insight, and pastoral sensitivity has been a huge gift to our church.
— Church Leader
Dan’s support, knowledge and skill in not only numbers, but compliance too, mean frankly we’d be lost without him! He’s helpful, proactive, and we love working with him.
— Operations Director
Dan has provided fantastic freelance support with year-end preparation and bookkeeping for me at two different charities. He is highly knowledgeable, exceptionally organised and communicates clearly. I would highly recommend working with him.
— Charity Trustee
    • I have extensive experience in charity finance and governance, as a Finance/Operations Director, trustee, and Treasurer.

    • I am technically detailed but always explain and report in plain English.

    • I take a proactive approach, spotting issues before they become problems.

    • For everyone's peace of mind, I provide references and hold comprehensive professional indemnity insurance.

    • I'll let you know if I'm not the right person for the job.

    • My fees depend on your requirements so you only pay for what you need and have budget for, whether this is one hour per month or several hours each week.

    • I am always transparent and don’t charge more than the agreed quoted prices without your agreement. All prices include VAT.

    • If additional work is needed outside our agreement, I'll flag it immediately and wait for your approval, before any extra charges are applied.

    • Payment is by invoice, with no automatic subscriptions.

    • If you need subscriptions for third-party services like bookkeeping or payroll software, and it's cheaper for you to manage them directly, I’ll give you this option.

    1. Get in touch for a free, no-obligation discussion.

    2. I’ll follow up with a quote for either a one-off project or a monthly arrangement.

    3. I'll start as soon as you're ready and keep you updated in the way that suits you best.

    For ongoing work

    • We'll use a simple, straightforward agreement

    • After three months (or at a time to suit you), we'll review everything together to ensure everything is working as expected.
